Overview

JSON Debugger is designed with privacy as a core principle. All processing occurs locally within your browser. We don't operate servers that receive your JSON, and we don't collect analytics about how you use the extension.

Information We Collect

JSON Debugger does not collect any of the following:

Personal information
Browsing history
Account information
Analytics
Usage statistics
Device identifiers

Data Processing

JSON entered into the extension is processed locally. No JSON content is transmitted to external servers under any circumstances.

Local Storage

The extension stores only:

Theme preference
Saved JSON snippets
Extension settings

These are stored locally using the Chrome Storage API and never leave your device.

Permissions

JSON Debugger requests only the permissions it needs to work:

activeTab

Allows formatting of the currently active page after you activate the extension.

scripting

Injects the bundled formatter into raw JSON pages.

storage

Saves your preferences and snippets locally on your device.

Host permissions

Detects and formats supported JSON pages you visit.

Remote Code

JSON Debugger does not download or execute remote code. All scripts are packaged with the extension and audited before release.

Third-Party Services

JSON Debugger does not use:

Google Analytics
Tracking pixels
Advertising SDKs
External APIs for JSON processing

Security

All processing happens locally. No data is transmitted to external servers, which eliminates entire categories of network-based risk.

This privacy policy may be updated as the extension evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
